Disclaimer:

NYC Mobile Notary Service Team members are commissioned notaries. We are not attorneys licensed to practice law and may not give legal advice. We recommend that you speak with the advising attorney for any legal guidance before the scheduled appointment.

Notaries in New York State have no authority to certify copies of documents (for instance, “I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy…,” ). However, we may sign a form of an affidavit on a copy where the document’s custodian signs and swears to the authenticity of the document (usually a government-issued picture ID). This can suffice as a “notarized copy” in most instances but is not a certified copy.

Your Appointment:

The appointment guarantees that a notary agent (and witnesses if requested) will arrive at your preferred location to complete the signing. By scheduling an appointment with us you are confirming that the following conditions will be met at the time of the appointment to complete the requested notarization. If any of these conditions are unmet, our notary team members will request that you reschedule the appointment when the conditions will be met.

  1. Each signer must have a valid physical government-issued identification at the time of the signing appointment
  2. Each signer must sign of their own free will
  3. Each signer must be present before the notary, alert/coherent at the time of the signing

We require that the document NOT be signed prior to our arrival, or that it be resigned if already signed. Since the signer is always required to appear personally before the notary, we cannot provide notarization via fax. We also must decline to pre/post date document notarizations. Please understand the distinction between the document date and the notarization date. The document date is the effective date of the document and is of no concern to the notary. The notarization date is the actual date the signer appears before the notary and must be accurately reflected on the document.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy:

Your time is very important to us, so we appreciate the same courtesy. If you would like to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance by calling or email us. If a cancellation is made less than 12 hours ahead of time, you will not be issued a refund for our services. You will need to schedule a new appointment with us.

Refund Policy:

If you cancel/reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance, you will receive a refund of service within 48-72 hours of your request. If we are unable to complete any notarization due to any reason outside of our control (ie. signer’s awareness, improper identification, tardiness to an appointment, signer not present, signer refuses to sign, etc)., you will not receive a refund for our services.

Terms and Conditions:

All traveling notary appointments must be booked at least 4 hours in advance.

Your payment secures your appointment with us.

We ask that you please allow a 30-60 minute window for arrival.  This grace period allows for any unpredictable travel conditions. In the event your appointment is delayed, you will be notified (text/call) of this delay within 30 minutes of the appointment. We make every effort to arrive at your scheduled appointment early and we have an exceptional record of providing excellent service.
